Below is a list of things I have accomplished in the art world. This includes awards, opportunities as well as publications! I find it important to make a name for myself in the art world, however, I do my best not to focus too heavily on it. This way, I spend more time wondering what I want out of my art, not what everyone else wants.

Meeting Utah's Former congressman, Chris Stewart

In 2021, I submitted my painting, "My Name is Markus" to the Springville Museum of Art high school competition. I was awarded an honorable mention and was able to meet Chris Stewart with other artists. We got to discuss our pieces and what they meant to us, as well as express how important art is.To me, this was a very important in my art career, because it made me want to reach for higher.

Seeing my work among many other talented artists gives me a sense of community. I have met some of these artists, and all of their goals in life are so drastically different. There is no "one artist" every single one of them have their own lives.

Visual Art Sterling Scholar

At the Sterling Scholar Awards, I placed runner-up in my state in the visual arts category. This meant that I showed superior achievement, scholarship, leadership, character, and citizenship during high school. The best part about it is that I was the first student in my school's history to place runner-up. This meant the world to me to be able to represent my school as well as meet plenty of other artists and expand my connections.

In 2022 I ran my first art booth to sell some of my work. I did it to raise money for college and it was a HUGE success where I raised $2,000. In doing this, I made a lot fo connections with people and artists and was able to get some commission work set ut for me.

Kolob Canyon Review 2023

In April of 2023, my piece, "A Mother's Loss', was chosen to be published in SUU's Kolob Canyon Review's publication. This was a huge moment for me. This was my very first publication of my art. I met a lot of people and made huge connections that would inspire me to publish my work the next year.

Kolob Canyon Review 2024

In April 2024 two of my pieces, "My Name is Markus" and "The First of a Legacy", were published with SUU's Kolob Canyon Review. I submitted more work this year than the last and was lucky enough that two of my pieces were chosen. It felt like a coming full circle moment. "My Name is Markus" was my first painting, and it jumpstarted me to want to become a painter, which I eventually ended up in college. "The First of a Legacy" was my first piece ever made in college. The first of many.
